Hi buddies,worried of no cake birthdays during this quarantine period keep all your worries aside and it's time to bake up your own cake.
For baking cake you need not search for oven or creams. Just make a beautiful cake with the home ingredients and enjoy the baking.
With no further talks let's move on to check the receipe and start the baking ahead.
Ingredients:
2 cups of wheat flour (maida flour)(1cup maida+1 cup wheat)
1 cup of sugar (brown sugar)
1 tablespoon baking powder ( if not there don't worry just skip it)
1/2 tablespoon baking soda (cooking soda)
2-3 eggs(1/2 cup curd)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (cinnamon powder/elachi powder)(any essence)
1/2 cup oil (vegetable/sunflower)
1/2 cup milk(boiled room temperature)
For frosting:
1cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
50-100g butter
1/2 cup hot milk
2 tablespoon corn flour (optional)
For sugar syrup:
2 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup water
Procedure:
# Preheat the cooker/kadai for 15 mins.
# Take cake tin apply oil and dust with flour and keep aside.
# Take a mixing bowl add eggs/curd and vanilla extract beat them for 15 mins.
# Add sugar and mix well till the sugar mix well.
# Add milk and oil and blend well.
# Keep this aside for 5 mins.
# Take another bowl seive Floyd,baking powder and baking soda and keep aside.
# Now add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients slowly and mix well.
# No need to beat just mix till all the ingredients bind together.
# Add milk if the batter is too thick.
# Pour the batter into three different cake tins for layering (or you can pour the batter all together in a single cake tin and later cut them into layers/slices)(you can add food colours too to get different colour layers)
# Place the tin in cooker/kadai and bake it for 30-40 mins (do check the cake often after 30 mins).
# Once the cake is done remove from cooker/kadai and allow it to cool down.
# Taa daa the soft spongy cake is done.
For frosting:
# Take a pan add water and keep it in stove.
# Take a bowl and place it over the pan in double boiler method.
# Add powdered sugar,cocoa powder,butter and milk and mix well.
# Add corn flour if needed.
# Allow it to boil for few mins till it slightly thickens
# Take out the bowl and allow to set few minutes at room temperature
# Then refrigerate it for 10 mins.
For sugar syrup:
# Take a pan add sugar and water allow to boil till sugar gets dissolved.
# Sugar syrup is ready.
For layering:
# Place the cake in a plate/any base.
# Cut the sides and level the cake.
# Pour the sugar syrup all over the cake and then take the Choco ganache and apply it like a layer.
# Take the next layer/slice and place over it and pour sugar syrup and choco ganache like a layer.
# Place the final layer and repeat the same.
# The cakes are now layered roughly.
# Now pour the choco syrup all over from top it nicely settles down and gives the cake a final finish.
# Decorate the cake with your creative ideas.Here I used choco byte,banana and grated cashews.
Super yummy birthday cake is done and it's ready for cutting.
